"Adults-Only" Galettes

Combine the dry ingredients. Place the flour in a very large mixing bowl and set aside.

Cream the butter and margarine together in a separate large bowl until smooth and creamy.

Add the sugars. Beat in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and well combined.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Add the vanilla and milk. Stir in the vanilla extract and canned evaporated milk until evenly combined.

Add a little Christmas spirit. Stir in the whiskey to taste. Remember, these are Great Grandma Biggs's Adults Only Galettes.

Make the dough by gradually adding the wet mixture to the flour. Mix until a thick, rich dough forms.

Refrigerate overnight. Cover the dough tightly and allow it to rest in the refrigerator until the next day.

Preheat the galette iron according to the manufacturer's directions.

Shape the dough into small balls or portions sized appropriately for your galette iron.

Bake in the galette iron until the cookies are golden brown and cooked through. Cooking time will vary by iron; electric irons may take less than a minute, while traditional irons can take several minutes.

Cool completely on wire racks. The galettes will become firmer as they cool.
