Welcome to the Santa Biggs Christmas Cookie Blog, where we celebrate one of Santa’s favorite Christmas traditions: cookies.

Long before cookies and milk became the standard, people often left small treats or refreshments for those who brought them gifts. It was a simple way of saying thank you.

By the 1930s, leaving cookies and milk for Santa had become especially popular in the United States. Times were hard for many families, and parents wanted children to remember that Christmas was not only about receiving a present. It was also about being thankful and sharing a little of what they had.

That same spirit is what this blog is all about.

Here, Santa Biggs will share favorite Christmas cookie recipes, visit local bakeries that have earned a place on the “Nice List,” and sample some of the prepackaged cookies you can find at the store.

Some cookies will be homemade. Some will come from great local bakers. And some may come straight out of a package. That is perfectly fine, because the cookie itself is not the most important part.

Whether you leave Santa a homemade cookie, a bakery favorite, or one from the grocery store, it is simply a way of saying:

“Thank you, Santa.”

And if you do not have a cookie, a little note or a picture you drew means just as much.

Because for Santa, it is never about how fancy the cookie is.

It is about the thank-you behind it.
